First Time At The Beach

We were finally able to take her out to the beach today. Temperature-wise, it was perfect. However, it was ridiculously windy, and we had to cut our trip short.

We got to put the long bed to the test, as you can see in the second picture. Wendy and I sat side-by-side, trying to block the wind with the cab.

After cleaning the truck up (a ton of sand inside and out), Addie and I posed for Wendy.

Turn-key clamp installed on tailgate | February 29, 2012

I’m always itching to work on my truck, so of course, I couldn’t wait for my first mod. I removed all four mud flaps to get things going. I then installed a turn-key clamp to the tailgate, to help with theft prevention. Unfortunately, Tacoma tailgates are easy to remove, and tailgate theft is an issue. I will do the washer mod as well, as soon as I’m able to pick up the supplies from Lowes.

The first pic shows the Taco parked in the garage. I wasn’t worried about the long bed fitting, but I was pleasantly surprised to see just how well it does fit.

The rest are much better pictures, taken with Wendy’s camera, the next morning in the drive way. 100% stock still.

Check Out That 4×4!

First, I have give thanks to Marty McFly. Without him, none of this would be possible. His immortal words, “Check out that 4×4!”, have stuck with me for nearly 30 years. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, click this link:

I was going on 11 when my parents took me to see Back to the Future in 1985. I’ve loved Toyota 4×4′s ever since. At long last, I finally have one.

306 miles when picked up | February 27, 2012

That’s me, at the dealer, about to take her home. A 2012 Tacoma TRD Sport, Double Cab, Long Bed, 4×4. In black, of course.

Unfortunately, the first picture I took of my new Taco came out blurry, but there will be a lot more, so no big deal.

There were already 306 miles when I drove her off of the lot, but that was because she was delivered to me from Tallahassee.
